Anthony Licitra’s journey into the fitness industry began in 2018 when he and two friends opened their first two F45 studios in Stamford and Norwalk, Connecticut. In 2022, Anthony and his partners sold their studios to Club Sports Group, where he continues to play a role in operations and expansion. The team began looking for the next opportunity to complement their F45 holdings. FS8 stood out.

FS8—the low-impact training concept that blends reformer Pilates, mat Pilates, yoga, and strength. The idea to expand in the US after hearing glowing reviews from their colleagues overseas, including those operating FS8 Oxford Circus in London.

Club Sports Group recognized the demand and acted fast, opening its first FS8 location in Fairfield, Connecticut, just steps from their existing F45 Training in the same shopping plaza.

The payoff was immediate. FS8 Fairfield outperformed their own early projections, says Anthony—exceeding their expected profitability margin and attracting a strong, engaged membership base. He states “It’s been really amazing seeing the community grow, as well as our team grow, giving us a lot of confidence for our next FS8 locations.”

What Works?

The core exercises and workouts, brought by both FS8 and F45, are always going to be strong in the fitness industry, says Anthony. With fads and trends constantly changing, this is what will continue to contribute to the success of both of these brands. Because at their core, the functionality of these exercises is there to stay.
